TextbookScout exists because the campus bookstore charges full list price for books that sell used, three clicks away, for a fraction of that. The gap isn't small: the same ISBN routinely costs 60–90% less on used marketplaces, and the cheapest store changes from book to book and week to week.
So this site does one thing: you give it an ISBN or a title, and it builds direct links to your exact edition at Amazon, AbeBooks, ThriftBooks, eBay, Chegg, Better World Books and Biblio — plus a buyback comparison for when the semester ends. No account, no email capture, no fees.
How the site makes money
Some of the store links are affiliate links, meaning the retailer pays this site a small commission if you buy — at no extra cost to you. Every store is shown for every book regardless of whether it pays a commission, and nothing about the ordering is pay-to-play. Honest links are the whole product; there'd be no point ranking stores by anything other than what saves you money.

TextbookScout is not affiliated with any university, bookstore or publisher. It's a small independent project — which is exactly why it can point you to whichever store is cheapest instead of whichever one is in the building.
